Specifications:

• Multiport Valve (MPV): This is a single valve body with multiple internal ports and a control handle that allows the user (or an automatic controller) to direct water flow through different paths. This eliminates the need for several individual valves and extensive piping.
• 25NB: This indicates the Nominal Bore, which is a standard international pipe size designation, typically corresponding to a 1-inch (1″) connection. The inlet, outlet, and drain connections are usually 1″ BSPF (British Standard Pipe Female) unions.
• Side Mounted (SM): This describes how the valve is physically connected to the water treatment vessel (often a large FRP or plastic tank). A side-mounted assembly connects to a fitting on the side of the tank, as opposed to a “top-mounted” valve which sits directly on the top opening of the vessel.

• Filtration/Service: Normal operation where water passes through the filter media (e.g., sand, carbon, or resin).

• Rinse: Flushes out any remaining backwash water or regenerate solution.
• Brine Suction/Slow Rinse (for softeners): Draws a salt solution (brine) into the vessel to regenerate the ion exchange resin.
• Brine Rinse/Fast Rinse (for softeners): Flushes the remaining brine solution out of the system.
